Riikka Theresa Innanen
is a Finnish choreographer, dancer and visual artist who's work has been seriously contaminated by various cultures, traditions, disciplines, practices and (dis-)abilities.
Her cultural background consists of Finnish and Finnish-Swedish roots, mixed with partially Italian family and of living and working abroad most of her adult life. She grew up with visual arts and music and studied dance, choreography and video in Amsterdam at SNDO / Amsterdam School of the Arts. Hobbies include playing the Ukulele and she dream of becoming Clown-Scientist-Nun specialized in Tea Ceremonies.
With Luíss she plays the space with her body, movement, voice, objects and light.

Riikka Theresa Innanen (Born in Jyväskylä, Finland)
Graduated from School for New Dance Development (SNDO/ Bachelor of Performing Arts) in 1997
Besides her artistic work, which is both experimental and socially conscious, she has been curating and organizing events such as Side Step- festival (since 2001- 2009) and curated several video compilations shown domestically and internationally. Additionally she has collaborated with Helinä Rautavaara Museum in Espoo, Finland creating project for special groups and communities. She has created several video and installation work and since 1997 she’s been teaching editing, camera and composition (most extensively at the Amsterdam School of the Arts (AHK) and Outokumpu Dance Education).
Her teaching includes also sharing her personal approach and in-depth knowledge in Somatic body training and improvisation by teaching in various places and constellations.
Throughout her career, she has been supported in Finland by Kiasma - Finnish National Museum of Modern Art, Zodiak – Center for New Dance, Kokoteatteri, Samuel Huber's Arts Foundation, including Artist Bursary from the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland / Svenska Kulturfonden and other foundations and events in Holland, Italy, France, China, Denmark and Ireland.
